FORTUNA — November 2, 2026. A 2026 City of Fortuna planning report describes improvements to park facilities and community recreation as part of its long-term General Plan implementation.
What the report documents
The report references renovations at Rohner Park courts including additional basketball and pickleball striping, as well as acquisition of 2.66 acres for expansion of Newburg Park.
Long-term funding needs
The city also describes cooperation with the Rohner Community Recreation and Parks District toward potential funding for a community pool. A planning report is not confirmation that a pool has been built.
Public oversight
Residents can follow City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission agendas to see which projects have actual contracts and budgets. A completed improvement, proposed acquisition and longer-term goal are different stages of the planning process.
